Getting started

Onboarding and the tour

The five-step setup wizard and the in-app tour you can replay at any time.

There are two guided experiences: a short wizard the first time you sign in, and a tour of the generation screen you can start whenever you like. Both are optional and neither one changes anything you cannot change again later.

The onboarding wizard

Straight after verification you get five short steps. They exist to save you a trip to Settings, not to gate the product; Skip tour is on every step.

StepWhat it asks
WelcomeNothing. It tells you the next three choices are all reversible.
Output languageVerilog or VHDL as your default for new runs.
Target deviceThe vendor family your synthesis estimates are measured against.
ToolsA read-only introduction to the tool groups; nothing to choose.
First moduleAn optional starter description, prefilled into the composer.

Whatever you pick is saved as your run defaults. Change them any time in Settings under Run defaults, or per run in the Run setup panel.

The in-app tour

Take the tour sits in the sidebar footer, under the chat list. It walks the composer, the mode toggle, the model picker, the tools menu and the run setup panel, highlighting each one in place on the real screen rather than in a video.

It runs in three short chapters, about a dozen stops in total:

ChapterWhat it covers
Choose your starting pointThe workspace switch, and what uploading an existing project changes.
Set up the run and generateAgent or Plan, the model picker, the tools menu, and the run setup panel; then it generates.
Read your resultsThe chat list, the conversation column, and the panel your files land in.

Heads up

The second chapter ends by starting a real generation, so you can watch the whole flow finish and have something to read in the third chapter. That run is billed like any other. If you would rather not spend it, close the tour at that step; everything before it is free.

The tour starts by itself once, on your first visit to the generator. After that it only runs when you ask for it, and you can replay it as often as you want.

What the tour touches

As it moves, the tour flips the controls it is describing so you can see them working: it switches modes, picks a model, turns a couple of tools on and opens the run setup panel. None of that is recorded as a choice. When the tour ends, whether you finished it or skipped out halfway, your saved defaults are put back exactly as they were.

Note

The one thing that is real is the generation at the end of the second chapter. Settings are only previewed; the run is not.
